Need something fun and relaxing to do at the end of the summer? Visit the 28th Annual Festival in the Pines in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This event takes place August 28-29 in Carson Park and features 225 arts and crafts exhibitors, great food, live entertainment and games. There are inflatable rides for kids as well. On August 11th, comedy magician Dan Sperry was selected as a semi-finalist for NBC’s America’s Got Talent: Season 5, after being selected through the primetime show’s national search for talent on YouTube.com. After receiving over 400,000 votes on his YouTube submission, Dan was selected as one of 12 YouTube finalists that performed live on NBC. America voted and Dan Sperry is now one of this season’s semi-finalists.

The 2010 Wisconsin State Fair will mark 159 years of presenting one of the most family-friendly and affordable entertainment experiences of Wisconsin’s summer season. Fairgoers of all ages will again come together to celebrate storied traditions and start new ones beginning August 5and running through Sunday, August 15.
In recent years the Fair has drawn nearly 900,000 people through the gates, many who return for the unforgettable experience and fun. Agriculture continues to be a central focus of the fair today, and will continue to be in the future. On an annual basis fairgoers will be able to see 7,000 – 10,000 different animals exhibited during the 11 day run. But don’t leave without trying one of the favorite traditions for fairgoers, the highly anticipated Cream Puff. This delicious sensation is a fair “must”, being the longest selling item at the fair.
Also be sure to make your way to the WEAC Family Variety Stage to check out Kenny Ahern, a physical comic, who will be performing daily August 5-15, and the a cappella band InPulse, performing on August 6.

Get ready for the Annual Music in the Park Concert Series that has been taking place for more than a decade. The Osceola Chamber of Commerce and Mainstreet Program have sponsored this event, which features high-quality music throughout the summer. The free Thursday night concerts, conducted in the downtown’s park, have been made possible by the generous donations by local businesses and organizations. The Music in the Park Concert Series will be taking place through August 12th. Make sure to check out The George Maurer Jazz Trio performing on August 5th, and Tangled roots, a bluegrass band, on August 12th. So grab your lawn chairs and blankets, enjoy the fresh air, and head on down to Mill Pond to enjoy an evening of music with the whole family.

The Dunn County Fair has been a joy for fairgoers of all ages since 1885! Come celebrate 125 years of agricultural education from Wednesday, August 4 to Sunday, August 8. There are many different events for guests to take part in, including the bake contest, the video competition, as well as the Pig Scramble. For those of you who love to scream and enjoy a thrill, carnival rides are also available.
Once you have joined in the fun, be sure to check out some great live entertainment that is offered on the free stage as well as the grand stand. Some of the acts performing on the free stage include: The comedy juggling duo In Capable Hands, Kristoffer Olson, a magician, The Twerps, the master hypnotist Tommy Dare, The Britins, a Beatles tribute band , and The Memories, a variety show group.
